It's been a great week. The girls have had VBS every morning from 9-11:30 and they have loved it.
And I have loved the time off.
D and I have had free time and it's been so relaxing. I didn't realize how much I really just needed a break until this week. I've been practically giddy from the time off.
But then by 11:30 I'm really excited to pick them up and see them again. :)
We've been going to the water park a lot and E is soooo close to swimming on her own. She can keep her feet off the bottom but is just barely able to keep her head above the water still. She really wants to do the big water slide without the inner tubes but she has to be able to swim first. It's good motivation. And K has loved jumping in the water and "swimming" with her daddy.
I love that it seems like wherever we go in our town, we run into people we know. Since it's such a big town, it's a nice feeling.

Summer time
Last summer I never wrote on here...I wonder if this summer will be the same. I have some great pictures of the girls that I can maybe persuade Denis to upload since it always messes up the computer somehow. I just don't have the patience for it.
Anyway, it's summer vacation now! It always takes a while to get used to the do-nothing schedule, but we have more planned this summer to keep us moving. E and K both have gymnastics still, plus VBS for one week and a soccer camp for one week. And we'll do our annual trip to CT/NJ in early July, so that should be fun.
Right now both girls are already in their bathing suits, ready to go to the water park when it opens at 11 a.m. It's now 9:45. They get ready hours in advance sometimes.
E is really excited to try soccer this summer. She's got her shin guards and cleats and played almost all day yesterday. She's pretty aggressive, which surprised me. But it's actually nice to see her fighting for the ball. I thought she'd be really timid.
K got some new sneakers for her soccer camp, but she got bored of playing after a few minutes. Maybe just because I showed interest in it. That's a surefire way to turn her off from something. I should remember that: tell her that I just adore her new sketchy boyfriend when she's 16, and proceed to ask her all about him. She'll dump him immediately. :)
