K's birthday (a little late)

K's birthday was last week, but this is the first chance I've had to put some pictures up. :)
This is K having her donut breakfast. :) And painting on her new easel with E. You see Scout in the background?

Okay, so our town is big. Really Really Big.

I knew our town was big, but I just noticed that our kindergarten-only building has 740 students.
SEVEN HUNDRED AND FORTY KINDERGARTENERS.

I'll post again later about K turning three, but I was just blown away by that. And I have to send my sweet baby E there in September????

She'll find a way to be the 1 out of 740 who gets lost on the way to the bathroom. Just watch.

Hair, Teeth, and Eyes

Scout got a haircut today (Saturday) and she's absolutely adorable. She's already ditched the purple bows, but I at least got a picture first! Have we mentioned why we love Scout? She's 8 or 9 pounds, maximum, she uses a litter box, she never sheds, and never barks. She's essentially a cat. Except cuter. :)

E had her first cavity. She had it filled on Thursday, and did a great job. She dribbled milk down her chin at lunch, which was pretty funny to see, but other than that she had no problems. She had a tear in her eye when the dentist brought her out after the filling and said "Mommy I didn't really cry. I just almost cried. It hurt my cavity."Here's a picture of her now-healthy smile. :)

And K had her 1-year eye doctor check-up. D and I were both REALLY hoping her vision had gotten a bit stronger (her prescription was -11 in one eye and -12 in the other....pretty horrible), but unfortunately, it's now to -13 and -15. She can't see a thing without her glasses anymore. I drew a big A on a paper and asked her what letter it was from about 5 feet away and she couldn't see it. At least she'll get new stronger glasses, though. :) Here's two pictures of her at the park on Friday when it reached 65 degrees!

That's all the news that's fit to print! Off to watch a movie!! :)

It's Square Root Day!!!!!!

Being married to a math nerd, I've become aware of these little gems in our calendar:
Pi Day (3/14)
Square Root Day (3/3/09, 4/4/16...)
and Mol Day (Both 6/02 and 10/23. You know: 6.02 X 10^23????)
D would also like to add April 23, 2008: the day he first solved his 4X4X4 Rubik's Cube.
Great days in math history...

So I'm very proud of myself for two reasons.
1. I was aware that today was square root day, and
2. I baked a CARROT cake in honor of it. GET IT?? CARROT????!!!!!! (Carrots are roots, right?)

Here's a picture of my stunning achievement:

And here's a picture of my baby girls enjoying math:

The cutest part of all was when K asked in her tiny wispy voice "Mommy, can I have more square root please?"

And here's just one more picture of the biggest nerd I've ever known (for the record, I had to have this shirt EXPLAINED to me):

Thanks For Visiting
